Constantia Wine Route
The Constantia Valley is renowned for its beautiful scenery. It is home to 9 exceptional wine farms, including the historic Groot Constantia Wine Farm which was the first wine farm in the country.
It was granted to Simon van der Stel by the Dutch East India company in 1685.The Valley now has its own wine route.
Table Mountain Walks & Cycling
CVL is 5 mins from the slopes of Table Mountain and our historic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens with wonderful mountain walks and cycle trails to suit all levels.
You can also step out from the lodge and join our network of greenbelt trails throughout the Valley.
Sporting activities
For sports enthusiasts, we are 10 minutes drive from the famous Newlands cricket grounds.
The Constantia Sports Grounds are a 5 minute walk away and host a Virgin Active Gym with squash, gym classes and a heated swimming pool.
There are also a tennis and bowls club in the Grounds.
Golf
We are 10 minutes from the golf estates of Royal Cape, Steenberg, and Westlake and 25 minutes from Clovelly.
Beaches
Our closest beaches, Hout Bay, Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek are 20 minutes away from the lodge and the famous Beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay are 30 minutes away.
V & A
Cape Town International Airport, the city bowl and the famous V & A Waterfront are 20 minutes from the lodge out of rush hour traffic.
Transport
Cape Town does not have a good national transport system, which is why we always recommend car hire. However, we have the only available transport in Cape Town passing us all day, in the form of minibus taxis and busses.
Uber taxis are also available 24 hours a day and are normally only 5 minutes away.
